National Joint Council Directives

The National Joint Council (NJC) is a consultative body of representatives of management and public service unions.

The NJC was designed to establish uniform employment practices, working conditions and benefits across the federal public service. As our bargaining agent, the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) represents the interests of Agriculture Union members at the NJC.

These NJC policies and practices are issued as 'Directives', a number of which are included in collective agreements. A grievance procedure exists for settling disputes on the interpretation of NJC policies.
