National Executive
The Agriculture Union's National Executive is comprised of a National President and four National Executive Vice-Presidents. These five national officers are Agriculture Union members, elected by the delegates at our union's National Triennial Convention.
The National President and First National Executive Vice-President are both full-time officers, based at the Agriculture Union's National Office in Ottawa.
The National Executive ensures that our union's resources are appropriately allocated and that its activities reflect the will of the membership. It meets four times a year.

FABIAN MURPHY
First National Executive Vice-President
Fabian Murphy was elected First National Executive Vice-President of the Agriculture Union at our 2011 Triennial Convention. He had previously served as Fourth National Executive Vice-President since 2008 and Regional Vice-President for our Eastern Atlantic members from 2002 to 2008.
Fabian became active in the Agriculture Union in 1984, when he was first elected secretary of what is now Local 1, in St. John’s. Over the years, he involved himself in education, political action, member representation and consultation with management.
Health and safety is a focus for Fabian. He is currently on leave from Agriculture and Agrifood Canada where he works as the Atlantic Regional Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, providing training and advice to employees, supervisors, managers and local OH&S committees.
Fabian also chairs the Agriculture Union Finance and Communication Committee.
Fabian is a member of both the CFIA and the AAFC National Union Management Consultation Committees. His work on these Committees is aided by his personal experience with the broad diversity of occupational tasks carried out by Agriculture Union members. Prior to his current AAFC post, he worked as an agriculture research technician, a farm labourer and a power engineer. |

GLENN MILLER
Second National Executive Vice-President
Glenn Miller was elected Second National Executive Vice-President of the Agriculture Union at our 2011 Triennial Convention. Prior to this, he served for six years as Regional Vice-President and as a PSAC Regional Council member for our members in southwestern Ontario.
Glenn has been an activist in our union going back to the mid -980's. He has taken on a number of positions over the years including Vice President and then President of Local 00018 in Harrow, Ontario. He served as a Table 2 (now SV group) bargaining team member for three rounds of bargaining.
Health and Safety has been a big part of Glenn’s activity for over 20 years, serving on many committees including Co-Chair of the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Health and Safety Policy Committee since 2006.
Glenn has also acted as an appeal representative and was one of the original Joint Learning Program facilitators. A product of the PSAC education program Glenn is very supportive of education for our members. |

RAPHAËL TARASCO
Third National Executive Vice-President
Raphaël Tarasco was elected Third National Executive Vice-President at the Agriculture Union's 2011 Triennial Convention. Prior to this, he had served as Regional Vice-President for our members in the Western Quebec Region since 2002..
Raphaël's union involvement started in 1984, when he became the Occupational Health and Safety representative at Local 10012 in Montreal. He was subsequently elected Vice-President and then President of that Local. Raphaël has also had training as a mediator
In 2002,RaphaëlI ran for and was elected Regional Vice-President, Western Quebec, and was re-elected twice more until 2011. In his new position, he continues to stress the importance of maintaining healthy union-management relations based on mutual respect. |

MERAIAH KREBS
Fourth National Executive Vice-President
Meraiah Krebs was elected Fourth National Executive Vice-President of the Agriculture Union at our 2011 Triennial Convention. She first became active in our Union in 2001, when she was elected President of Local 30329 in Edmonton, Alberta. Meraiah was then elected Alternate National Director for our members employed by the Canada School of Public Service and the Public Service Commission in 2005 and National Director a year later.
Meraiah started her public service career as an intern in 1997. She has since worked primarily in human resources in numerous departments, but always seems to find her way back to the Public Service Commission.
Union education, both for the membership and for herself, has been a driving factor for Meraiah. She has completed a variety of labour education programs, including graduating from the intensive Canadian Labour College course in 2010. Meraiah is a PSAC Facilitator, a Joint Learning Program Facilitator and has completed her Instructors Training through the Canadian Labour Congress.
Meraiah has also held a variety of roles in the area of health and safety; co-chairing the Public Service Commission’s National Health and Safety Policy Committee and serving as a Local Health and Safety Representative in her workplace.
Whether co-chairing National Union Management Consultation Committee meetings, participating in the drafting of employment equity plan or sitting on the Alberta Federation of Labour’s Human Rights and International Solidarity committee, Meraiah ensures that our members’ best interests are always in the forefront.
