Contract talks for a new collective agreement for our member employed by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency are resuming the week of February 28 to March 2.
Negotiating teams for the employer and our bargaining agent, the Public Service Alliance of Canada, will meet in Ottawa to try and reach an equitable settlement.
Up to now, the focus at the bargaining table has been on non-monetary items and the problem-plagued Phoenix pay system. However, in light of recently announced tentative agreements with PSAC-represented groups employed by Treasury Board, there is guarded optimism that real progress can be made.
