The Federal Government has accepted the Mental Health Task Force’s two reports which point the way to improving the workplace through alignment with the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (free download).

It has come to our attention that some employer representatives are attempting to engage Agriculture Union members directly in these initiatives, without Union involvement. This is not in keeping with the Task Force Report recommendations and this also means that management is effectively working outside the legislative requirements of the Employment Equity Act and the Canada Labour Code, Part II and should be brought to the Union’s attention immediately
