In collaboration with the CFIA Employment Equity and Diversity Portfolio, we are pleased to share the following message with our Agriculture Union Membership.

Diversity Challenge: Wear Pink on April 12, 2017!

Join us April 12 for International Day of Pink – a day to celebrate diversity, raise awareness and to stand up against all forms of bullying, including discrimination, homophobia, and transphobia.

The International Day of Pink was started in Nova Scotia in response to a bullying incident and has grown to millions of supporters around the world with schools, companies, governments and the general public participating in pink day activities to take a stand and working together to prevent homophobic and transphobic bullying.

The Day of Pink is more than just a symbol of a shared belief in celebrating diversity – it’s also a commitment to being open minded, accepting differences and learning to respect one another.

In commemoration, we encourage everyone, where operationally feasible, to wear something pink on April 12th as a way of recognizing and valuing our diversity and of showing support for respect in the workplace.
