Make your voice heard on food safety – e-mail your federal candidate!

The Agriculture Union and our bargaining unit, the Public Service Alliance of Canada, are working hard to make food safety an important issue in the October 19 election.

With virtually all candidates for the three major parties nominated across the country, the longest federal election in a century is set to kick into high gear after Labour Day.

NOW is the time for Agriculture Union members to make our voices heard! And we’ve made that super-easy on our ‘Food Safety First’ Web site.

Simply click HERE to reach our special election page. Then, enter your postal code in the space provided. A message, customizable so that you can enter your own comments, can then be sent to the candidates in your particular riding.

We know from our polling that nearly two-thirds of Canadians are more likely to vote for a candidate who favours increasing the number of inspectors versus only six per cent who would support allowing food companies to police their own safety practices.

So, let’s make sure we elect a new government that will respect Agriculture Union members and the valuable services we provide the public!
