On April 11th, 2026, Agriculture Union members from across Quebec and Ottawa hit the streets of Montreal with PSAC-Quebec for a demonstration outside the Liberal party convention. We made A LOT of noise to pass a clear message to the Carney government – a strong Canada starts with us!
We had members show up from CFIA, AAFC, the Public Service Commission and the Department of Defence. They travelled long distances from Quebec City, St-Hyacinthe and Gatineau to be in Montreal.
Some who came out are facing job cuts themselves. Others were there to support their colleagues, their friends, and their families. Everyone was there to stand for all Canadians, and to defend our public services.
Even though the Liberals recently secured a majority government, this demonstration will no doubt be the first of many in a long fight-back against Mark Carney’s austerity agenda. Stay tuned for more to follow!
