PSAC strike votes

The PSAC recently announced strike votes for Treasury Board members in the PA, TC and EB bargaining groups. This includes all Agriculture Union members except for members of CFIA and the SV bargaining group.

Voting will take place between November 16, 2026 and January 22, 2027.

Before the strike votes take place, make sure you’re a PSAC Member In Good Standing (MIGS)! MIGS have signed PSAC union cards and can enjoy the full benefits of union membership. Talk to your coworkers today and ask them if they’ve signed.

MIGS and strikes – what you need to know

  • All members of a bargaining unit can participate in a strike vote, regardless of whether you’ve signed a union card or not
  • Only MIGS can receive strike pay
  • Only Members In Good Standing (MIGS) are eligible to vote on a tentative agreement (ie. A new contract)
  • Even if you’ve already signed a union card, or you’re unsure, it’s a good idea to sign one again. That way the union has your most up-to-date contact info.

When signing a union card, it is important to sign up with a personal email address (i.e. a non-work address). In the lead-up to a strike vote, it’s important that the union be able to contact you, and vice versa. Being a MIGS helps improve member-union communication.

When you sign a union card electronically on the PSAC website you will receive a return email from PSAC (check in your trash bin) you must respond to this email to ensure your new ID is valid.

We also need a personal email address to e-deposit your strike pay; this can’t be done to your employer’s email.

You will need to obtain your credentials and a PIN by email to register to vote at a Strike Vote Session. This is organized by your regional PSAC offices.

If you’ve already signed a union card, make sure your contact info is up to date! Log in to the PSAC Member Portal or download the PSAC-AFPC member app to verify your personal email, phone number, and mailing address so you receive all strike vote and bargaining updates.
